Contemporary half calf and marbled boards (rebacked). Provenance : J.A. Lloyd (1827); H.R. Luard (signature dated 1882); Bibliotheca Lindesiana (bookplate); J.R. Abbey (bookplate); Harrison D. Horblit (sale Christies's East, New York, 16 February 1994, lot 267). PRESENTATION COPY, one of 35 copies "printed on writing paper" for presentation, this copy inscribed to J.A. Lloyd Esq. on presentation slip. PRICED WITH BUYERS' NAMES in a contemporary hand with sale totals, ruled in red; the last 9 lots added in manuscript. Sir Thomas Phillips tried to buy the collection privately but failed. He bought 69 manuscripts at the sale. Drury was Master of the Lower School at Harrow, and appears as "Menalcas" in Dibdin's Bibliographical Decameron.
