Written in Latine and translated into English at the speciall request of George Churchey. London: William White 1599. Small 4° (176 x 129mm). Collation: A-K 4 L 2 , one woodcut diagram, armorial on title. (Signature on D1 cropped.) 19th-century green half morocco, gilt (slightly rubbed). Provenance : Luton, pencilled inscription. FIRST AND ONLY EDITION IN ENGLISH, a work that was first published in Latin in 1552. One of the classic books on fishing. STC 7268 (lists 8 copies); Westwood & Satchell, Bibliotheca Piscatoria , p.81 (incorrect collation); Kress 213
