[Dutch school] Seascape with ships and a castle. 1650-Drawing, pen and brown ink, with grey wash, 19,5 x cm, thick laid paper, unsigned (some brown water stains at left edge, some minor brown spots). Stuck by upper corners to passe-partout. Nice composition with castle ruins and a bridge at the right and a large ship with an English flag at the left. In the foreground a group of men (soldiers?) are approaching the coast in a cutter. The drawing technique of combining detailed pen with wash, recalls the Dutch maritime draughtmen of the late 17th century.
