DVORÁK, Antonín (1841-1904). Autograph card signed to E.M. Engelmann, [Prague, 10 October 1887], asking for a book by Herr Spitzer [?] to be sent to him and stating that if he likes it he will be able to reply very quickly, Coorespondenz Karte , 83 x 140mm., with autograph address and manuscript anotation on the address side. The card is writte two days after the completion of the second piano quintet in A major (op.81) and shortly before Dvorák began work on Jakobin . As the address makes clear, Engelmann was a music publisher and bookseller in Vienna. The card appears to be unpublished.
