EAGLE ASCENT PROFILE – Apollo 11 LM Powered Ascent (Site 2). NASA/MSC/FOD Mission Planning and Analysis Division, 30 June 1969. Illustrating Neil Armstrong's perspective from his overhead docking window. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Buzz ALDRIN, quoting Aldrin's report to Mission Control upon lunar lift-off: " Number One on the Runway! " A full ascent profile of Lunar Module Eagle begins with lift-off from the surface, pitch over, surface crater recognition, and orbit insertion at the top of the diagram. The location of Command and Service Module Columbia is plotted above Eagle’s ascent profile with altitude versus downrange distances. Three diagrams illustrate what Neil Armstrong would see out of his overhead docking window at lift-off (the Earth out the window), the time just after lift-off (a crescent lunar horizon), and at orbit insertion (the lunar surface nearly filling the window). Another diagram plots the vertical rise after lift-off which has visual references to Armstrong’s first two views out his docking window. A small lunar map plots a wide view of the LM ground track up to the sunlight terminator point. A summary table cross-references lift-off and end of vertical rise with the corresponding elapsed time, altitude rate, altitude in feet, and several other CSM–LM related parameters. Flight diagram, 22 by 17 inches.
