Egypt and Sudan Medals 1882-1891 from the Collection of Jack Webb Pair: Yeoman of Signals Alfred Tabor, Royal Navy Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, 3 clasps, Alexandria 11th July, The Nile 1884-85, Abu Klea (A. Tabor, Sign. H.M.S. “Monarch”); Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R. narrow suspension (A. Tabor, Boatman, H.M. Coast Guard) impressed naming; Khedive’s Star 1882, pitting and polished, otherwise nearly very fine (3) £700-800 Footnote 61 officers and men of the Royal Navy were present at Abu Klea, of whom 28 had these three clasps. Alfred Tabor was born in the Parish of St Giles, Northampton, on 13 October 1863, and joined the Royal Navy on 6 January 1880. He was serving in Monarch both at Alexandria and with the Nile Flotilla. He rose to become a Yeoman of Signals and afterwards transferred to the Newhaven Coast Guard, receiving his L.S. & G.C. medal in January 1892. Sold with copy service record.
