EINSTEIN, Albert (1879-1955). Two autograph postcards signed ('Papa') to his elder son, Hans Albert, postmarked Berlin and Zurich, 30 November 1915 and 15 April 1916, the first REPROVING HIS SON FOR HIS 'UNAFFECTIONATE TONE': 'I see from the unfriendliness of this long delayed letter that a visit from me would give you little pleasure. I do not therefore consider it right that I should be obliged to spend 2 hours 20 minutes in the train for something which gives pleasure to no one. I shall only come and visit you again when you yourself ask me to', ending on a slightly more emollient note with reference to an Easter visit and Christmas presents; the second, briefer postcard simply arranges to meet Hans Albert at the Physics Institute; together 1½ pages, 8vo , the later card a picture postcard showing the Vier-Waldstättersee.
