Electro-plated Silver Circa 1880 Unknown United Kingdom A Victorian electro-plated table centrepiece suite, comprising: a centrepiece of two entwined palm trees, a giraffe standing on the rocky base, 44cm high; a pair of similar comports with cut glass dishes, a billy goat and a greyhound standing on the rocky bases, 28cm high; and a mirror plateau, the rocky borders with waterfalls, on four rocky feet, 43.5cm diameter, each engraved with a crest (6) The crest recorded for Diskens, Goodenough, Lile/Lille and also that of Sir William Harbord, KB created a baronet 1745, whose eldest son was advanced to the peerage as Baron Suffield in 1786. In 1853 these honours devolved upon Charles Harbord of Gunton Park, Norwich and Harbord House, Cromer, Norfolk. Born in 1830, the 5t Baron Suffield was a courtier to the Prince of Wales who later became King Edward VII. The 5th Baron Suffield was honoured with the British GCVO and KCB and many foreign Orders. £1000
