Condition: Toning, staining, trimmed to plate marks. N.B. The primary collector's stamp refers to Dr. Karl Herweg (1914-2002), of Recklinghausen, Germany, who was a specialist in occupational medicine and who began collecting Old Master prints about 1950, with a particular focus on German and Dutch Renaissance works. The majority of his collection was sold by Sotheby's London in 2003 and 2004. Some of the Beham engravings bear other collector's marks as well, including G.W. Brooke of Geneva, Switzerland, Heinrich Stiebel of Frankfurt, Germany, and Max Egon, prince of Fürstenberg.
