Emile Gallé Nancy Deutsch: Vase Ägyptischer Lotus. Um 1895-1897. Opakes, leicht grünstichig türkisfarbenes Glas, kräftig siegellackrot überfangen. Geätztes Dekor mit Blüten und Blattwerk des ägyptischen Lotus (nymphaea lotus) auf eisglasartig geätztem Grund. Blüten und Binnenzeichnung der Blätter mit Gravur. Säurepolierte Oberfläche. Auf der Wandung bezeichnet: GALLÉ (hochgeätzt und vertikal angeordnet). H. 24 cm. Die Vase gehört in den Zusammenhang der ‚Etrennes‘ von 1897/98. Gläser dieser Dekorreihe fertigte Gallé für das Grand Dépôt von Emile Bourgeois in Paris in limitierten Stückzahlen von wenigen Exemplaren pro Form, wo sie als als Neujahrsgeschenke (Etrennes) angeboten wurden. Opaque, slightly greenish turquoise-colored glass, overlaid with a strong red lacquer seal. Etched decor with flowers and foliage of the Egyptian lotus (nymphaea lotus) on an ice-glass-etched ground. Flowers and interior drawing of the leaves with engraving. Acid-polished surface. Inscribed on the wall: GALLÉ (etched high and arranged vertically). H. 24 cm. The vase belongs to the context of the 'Etrennes' of 1897/98. Gallé manufactured glasses of this decor series for the Grand Dépôt by Emile Bourgeois in Paris in limited numbers of a few copies per form, where they were offered as New Year's gifts (Etrennes).
