(Two short tears neatly repaired from verso, two shallow folding creases of which one slightly browned.) Published a week after Charles II's return to Parliament, this proclamation of parliament-sanctioned settling of scores underlines the restoration of Royal authority, albeit forever more tempered by parliamentary consent. Some of the individuals named and offered possible pardon in this proclamation, Adrian Scroope, John Carew and Thomas Scot, were are among the first to be hanged, drawn and quartered for their involvement in Charles I's execution.
