ERNEST CRICHLOW (1914 - 2005) Cissy. Lithograph on cream wove paper, 1952. 390x285 mm; 15 1/2x11 1/2 inches, wide margins. Signed, titled and dated in pencil, lower margin. A very good, dark impression of this very scarce print. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Ernest Crichlow became a painter during the Harlem Renaissance, and a printmaker during the WPA. He taught at the Harlem Community Center, and worked for the Greensboro Art Project in North Carolina.
