A “Grand Tour” album of original photographs from various locations in Europe during the later half of the nineteenth century, taken by several noted photographers of the period, including: George Washington Wilson, James Valentine Francis Frith and others. Locations include: The Leaning Tower of Pisa; St. Paul’s London; The Albert Memorial in Hyde Park; London Bridge; Westminster Abbey; House of Commons (London); Tower of London; Trafalgar Square; several of the Lincoln Cathedral; Windsor Castle; York Minster; Cambridge; Canterbury; Hawarden Castle; sailing vessel S.S. Umbria (Cunard) in Liverpool; Ben Lomond & Loch Lomond; Killarney; Blarney Castle; Arc de Triomphe, The Opera House, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Le Pantheon, artwork in the Louvre (including the Mona Lisa), and L’Obelisque in Paris; Palais de Versailles; artwork in the Luxembourg Museum; Monaco; etc. Lot Amendments Condition: Mild rubbing and edge wear; many photos with slight fading (chiefly to margins), some with captions trimmed off; else very good to near fine - a handsome album.
