Lot of 38. Most are 7.75 in. wide (a few closer to 7.5 in.), but length varies greatly. Cardinell Vincent Photographic Co. Held in San Francisco from Feb. 20 to Dec. 4, 1915, the Panama-Pacific International Exposition was originally intended to celebrate the opening of the Panama Canal, but seemed more to celebrate industry and mechanization of the 20th century (featuring locomotives, telephones, etc.). It also celebrated the recovery of the city from the earthquake and fires of just a decade before. Native Americans were celebrated as "noble peoples" rather than savages, but they were still doomed to become extinct. Women, still fighting for the vote, had their own Board, celebrating the "New Woman."
