Provenance : German inscription, dated 1745. This later reissue of Falda's famous work on the gardens of Rome, first issued by Rossi in Rome, ca. 1675, was published for the German market by Sandrat in the late 17th-century. The fine plates, alternate bird's-eye and eye-level views, record and celebrate the work of the architects Carlo Moderno, Ottavio Mascarini, Annibale Lippi Domenico Fontana Flaminio Pontico, Giacomo del Duca Alessandro Algardi and Rainaldi for the Dukes of Parma, Tuscany and others.
