Lot of 3 of Franklin D. Roosevelt including 2 of him at the 3rd Game of the 1932 World Series at Wrigley Field in Chicago while he was still Governor of New York and running for President. First is Keystone #32818 close view of Roosevelt seated talking to Joe McCarthy, manager of the New York Yankees and Charlie Grimm, manager of the Chicago Cubs. The second view is by an anonymous photographer showing Roosevelt standing ready to throw out the first pitch. His son James Roosevelt holds him steady as he stands. To Roosevelt's right is Chicago Mayor Anton J. Cermak who was shot and killed in an assassination attempt on Roosevelt a year later in Miami, Florida. Finally is Keystone #33535 is a nice portrait of President Roosevelt seated at his desk in the White House. 2 on gray curved mounts and the anonymous view of a buff flat mount. All 3 with great 3-D effect. On the versos of the first two Burchard has penned extensive notes. The anonymous view has also a 20 cent Roosevelt postage stamp affixed to verso. All three with "Ed. Burchard Collection" imprints on versos. Provenance: The Ed Burchard Stereoview Collection Condition: The anonymous view and portrait are fine on clean mounts. The World Series view is on a badly worn mount with tape repair at edges. The images though are fine.
