Original publisher's grey boards backed in green cloth, printed paper spine label, green quarter calf slipcase with inner chemise. FIRST EDITION IN NEAR MINT CONDITION. Fanning's account proved immediately popular and fine copies are increasingly rare. The accounts of sealing in the Antarctic in the South Shetlands, South Georgia and near the Antarctic Peninsula are by Pendleton, Palmer and the other captains of his sealing fleet out of Stonington.
