Lot of 4, featuring silver gelatin photograph, 11 x 14 in., showing the entire Federal Reserve Board ca 1928, just prior to the Stock Market Crash of 1929, signed by each member in the bottom margin beneath his image. Credited lower right to Underwood & Underwood, Washington. The following members are pictured (from left to right): Edmund Platt [Vice Chairman 1920-30]; Adolph Cooper Miller [Appointed 1914, re-appointed 1924]; Charles Sumner Hamlin [Governor 1914-16, re-appointed 1926]; Edward H. Cunningham [Federal Reserve Board 1923-1930]; Roy A. Young [Fed Chairman 1927-30 through the crash & depression]; George R. James [Federal Reserve Board 1923-36]; James W. McIntosh [Member 1924-28 as Comptroller of Currency & thus ex-officio]; Andrew W. Mellon [Secretary of the Treasury 1921-32 & thus ex-officio member]. Accompanied by large photograph of the Federal Reserve Building [the Eccles Building which opened in 1937], 11 x 14.5 in., credited lower right to "Rideout, Washington, DC"; engraved portrait, 7 x 11 in., and clipped newspaper portrait, 3.25 x 5.25 in., of Governor of the Federal Reserve Bank, Benjamin Strong. Condition: Autographed photograph is a bit light-contrast and has rather severe damage around the edges as follows: -missing lower right corner, -major crease upper left corner, -severe smaller crease upper right corner, -about 2" tear just right of center down from top edge, -various small tears, creases, etc. Fed reserve photo is in quite good condition. Benjamin Strong Print is torn along upper right edge/corner and clipping is rough around the edges.
