Album is a combination photo album and music box with cello cover The President and Our Heroes, featuring President McKinley, Admiral Dewey, and other Spanish American War heroes, copyright to Schwab Manufacturing, 1898, with room for 64 cabinet cards and six cartes de visite, and mounted atop a music box base which plays The Battle Hymn of the Republic (NOTE: the base is affixed with period labels identifying the tune and with operating instructions, but the mechanism has been replaced with a newer one). Notable photographs are mostly 1880s-1890s politicians including: 1889 composite cabinet card Presidents of the Century, featuring the first 23 presidents, serving 1789-1889; campaign cabinet cards of Benjamin Harrison, Levi Morton, Harrison & wife, Grover Cleveland, Thomas Hendricks, Cleveland & Thurman, and John A. Logan; a John A. Logan CDV; William McKinley cabinet card; William McKinley Mrs. McKinley, and their home 1896 souvenir card by a Canton photographer; nice cabinet card of James G. Blaine by Pach of New York; and two more photographs of Blaine; James A. Garfield cabinet card; composite cabinet cards of President Harrison and his wife, and President Cleveland and his wife; the White House; the Washington Monument; three William Jennings Bryan cabinet cards; two composite cabinet cards of William Jennings Bryan and his family; lithographed cabinet cards (some are lithographed copies of the aforementioned photographs) including Buffalo Bill, President McKinley, President Cleveland, VP Thurman, Admiral Dewey, William Jennings Bryan & family, and President Harrison, as well as two mounted lithographed McKinley memorial pieces; and a Lincoln Family CDV.
