[after 1858] § Judd (David W.) Life and Writings of Frank Forester, 2 vol., first edition, frontispieces (1 portrait), plates, bookplates of Col. Henry A. Siegel, original green cloth, gilt, slightly rubbed, a very good set, New York, 1882; 4 others, by the same including a set of his Sporting Science and Characters in original cloth and a 1850 edition of the first mentioned in a similar binding, 8vo et infra (8) *** Henry William Herbert (April 3, 1807 - May 17, 1858), was an English novelist, poet, historian, illustrator, journalist and writer on sport. He was educated at Eton College and Caius Collge, Cambridge. He lost his home through a dishonest agent and emigrated to the United States thereafter, where he taught Classics at a New York boarding school.
