Florentine School 17th/18th Century Studies of the Head and One Arm of Michelangelo's David Red and black chalk on paper 8 x 5 1/2 inches (20.3 x 14 cm); Together with Italian School, 16th Century, (possibly by Altobello del Melone, 1497-1530), The Circumcision of Christ, numbered 88 (ul); brown ink on paper, 7 x 9 1/8 inches (17.8 x 23.2 cm); and Italian School, 18th Century, Herdsmen with Livestock, brown ink and wash on paper, 5 5/8 x 8 3/8 inches (14.4 x 21 cm) C
David's Head and Arm: There is a red chalk drawing of a praying woman on the verso. Sheet hinged to the mount at upper right and upper left wiith white tape; light toning; glue stains at the edges; some tape residue along upper right margin; minor staining Circumcision: Laid to a second sheet of paper, then loosely affixed to the mount with tape. Abrasion; small nicks and tears around the edges. several small holes; red stain in lower right quadrant near the right margin. Other scattered stains. Herdsmen: Glued to the mount at all four corners. Holes; stains; some abrasion.
