Beschreibung:

Flown Apollo 12 emblem, cloth, 4 inches in diameter. Illustrates a clipper ship above the lunar surface with the last names of the Apollo 12 crew. Mounted on a Typed Letter Signed by Gordon Cooper. GORDON COOPER'S letter reads: "The cloth patch displayed with this letter was carried on the flight of Apollo XII, the second lunar landing made during November 1969. Charles 'Pete' Conrad and Alan Bean made the first 'pinpoint' landing of the Apollo Program. They landed less than 1,000 feet from one of their science objectives, the Surveyor III robot spacecraft. They made two surface explorations after their landing. Pete and I flew together on Gemini 5 back in 1965. We had the first ever crew designed mission patch for that flight. The clipper ship on the Apollo XII patch is a symbol of Pete's all Navy crew."
