FOUR COPIES OF HAFIZ'S DIWAN SAFAVID IRAN, 16TH CENTURY Comprising a late Timurid or early Safavid copy of the diwan augmented with Hafiz's ghazaliat , 200ff. plus 3 fly-leaves, each folio with 14ll. of black nasta'liq script in two columns with gold divisions, further text around written diagonally, titles in gold, opening bifolio with illuminated headpiece and cartouches, with Turkish owner's marks at beginning, in stamped and gilt brown morocco binding, a copy of 176ff. possibly from Herat, each folio with 13ll. of black nasta'liq script in two columns, with ruled gold frame, titles in gold and blue, illuminated opening folio tampered with, in black binding with loose back cover, a possibly Shiraz copy of 207ff., each with 15ll. of black nasta'liq script on gold-speckled paper in two columns with gold rules, opening folio with illuminated headpiece, possibly incomplete at end, in gilt brown morocco binding, and a copy dated 19 Jumada II AH 902, 146ff., each with 13ll. of black nasta'liq script in two columns, headers in red, with illuminated headpiece, in gilt and stamped morocco binding Folio 8 7/8 x 6½in.
