Frank Earle Schoonover (American, 1877-1972) Will Eshbachs Farm--Bushkill Unsigned, inscribed "2299/ Bushkill./ Oct. 1941/ Will Eshbachs Place" and identified on a fragmentary label from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, 137th Annual Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture, January 25 to March 1st, 1942, affixed to the reverse. Oil on canvas, 28 x 32 in. (71.1 x 81.3 cm), unframed. Condition: Losses/flaking, surface grime. Provenance: From the artist to Mrs. Sarah (Feeney) Wilson, Wilmington, Delaware, 1943; private New England collection. N.B. Three letters, including two signed by the artist, accompany the lot. This painting is recorded as #2299 in the files of the Frank Earle Schoonover catalogue raisonné. We are grateful to John Schoonover for providing this information.
