FRANKLIN, BENJAMIN, Signer (Pennsylvania) . Autograph document signed ("BFranklin Presidt.") as Governor of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, 6 December 1787. 1 page, 4to, 216 x 186 mm. (8½ x 7¾ in.), text in an attractive calligraphic hand, blind stamp in upper left corner, edges lightly browned, dampstain at lower left signature area, folds reinforced from verso. Governor Franklin hears a complaint regarding an unpaid debt in a bankruptcy: "Andrew Henry of the City of Philadelphia, Upholsterer, maketh Oath and Saith That William Flick of the said City, Baker, is indebted to this deponent in the Sum of Two hundred Pounds and...that the said William Flick is become Bankrupt within the meaning of the Acts of Assembly of this Commonwealth..."
