It is a typical example of the artist’s work, which primarily focused on figurative themes with a social subtext. Unlike his professors at the Academy in Prague (Loukota, Bukovac and Preisler), his style advanced towards Social Civilist symbolism and imagery. The series is mentioned on page 75 of Prokop Toman’s “Nový slovník československých výtvarných umělců” (Encyclopedia of Czechoslovak Artists).
