Estimate
US$3,000 - US$5,000
Price realised:

Beschreibung:

French Bronze Group of The Three Graces Cast by Auguste Delafontaine, 19th century Each figure dressed in a classical gown and with bare feet, on a stepped incurved triangular black marble base. Height overall 28 1/4 inches, height of base 7 1/2 inches. C
Bronze group appears to be in generally good condition; the casting separation lines are now somewhat prominent to the neck areas of all three heads and two of the heads are slightly loose; one of the figures has what appears to be a patch to her left shoulder/chest areas; there is wear and dulling to the patina, as well as a dark soiled appearance to the patina, notably to the bronze plinth area; there are some areas of the patina that have a rusted appearance, notably in the area that folds and pleats of the robes; there appears to be a small loss or perhaps a casting flaw to the neck area of one of the figure's heads (there is now a small gap in this area) apparently unsigned; there are chip losses to the stone base along the rim edges
