The group includes: Bookplates. A collection of 265 bookplates, chiefly French, 17th-early 20th century, most mounted on card with annotations on the verso or typed on slips and attached to recto. Housed in 2 blue cloth folding cases. — D'Arlincourt, Victor. Charlemagne ou la Caroléide. Paris, 1818. 2 volumes. Engraved frontispieces. Full straight-grain red morocco paneled gilt, smooth spines gilt, blue silk guards, edges gilt. Provenance: Marie-Louise, Empress of the French (gilt supralibros surmounted by the Imperial Crown). — L'Armessin, Nicolas de. Les Augustes representations de tous les roys de France. Paris, [1714]. Handcolored engraved title-page and 65 portraits; some soiling and staining. Modern blue morocco with gilt fillets, plain endpapers, gilt dentelles, edges gilt; white cast to covers, probably from leather dressing.
