Brown ink and wash on paper Sight 6 1/4 x 12 inches (15.9 x 30.5 cm); Together with (ii) French School, 18th Century, Portrait of a Young Man, inscribed A. Berjon, Peintre/d'apres un pastel de lui/Musee saint Pierre (ll), black and red chalk on paper, sight 11 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches (29.2 x 21 cm); And (iii) Attributed to Jules Boilly, The King of Rome in his Cradle, inscribed J. Boilly on the verso, black and white chalk on blue paper, 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (12 x 14.2 cm); And (iv) French School, 17th/18th Century, Three Amorini Inscribing a Circle, inscribed indistinctly (lc), brown ink and gray wash on paper, 2 3/4 x 2 inches (7 x 5 cm) C Property of a New York Collector
Bacchanal: Hinged to the back mount at the upper right and upper left with white tape. Tape residue of other tape from an earlier mounting. Paper is toned. Mat staining around the edges. Light staining and foxing. Sheet size: 6 3/4 x 13 1/2 inches (17.1 x 34.3 cm) Portrait of a Young Man: Affixed to the front mat with three pieces of celafan tape in the upper right, upper center and upper left. Remnants of tape on the lower edge as well. Paper is toned. Mat stain around the edges. Light staining and foxing. Attributed to Jules Boilly: Affixed to the back mat at the upper left and upper right with white tape. There is a almost invisible crease running diagonally across the composition. French School: Glued to back mat. A few stains around the edges. Slightly toned.
