Beschreibung:

[FULFILLMENT OF THE 5 YEAR PLAN.] 1932. 58x40 inches. Condition A-: minor restoration in bottom right corner; vertical fold. Two sheets. Another classic Klutsis photomontage poster with his trademark red background, crowd of workers and the factories in the foreground. Towering above the entire scene is a larger than life image of Stalin, who by 1932 was already solidly in control of the Soviet state. With his rise to power Stalin's influence also began to negatively affect the creativity and novelty of constructivist avant-garde design, which helps to explain why the typography in this poster is no longer creatively asymetric, but very classically, even rigidly organized in the top right and the bottom. The photomontage, however, remains impeccable. This poster also exists in a larger, four-sheet version. IVAM p. 84.
