Milan, New York, Paris, Berlin: Editioni Italiani Dinamo Azari, 1927. 28 plates, including 2 in color, profusely illustrated with striking line block and typographic designs within text, printed mostly on rectos on various papers, some colored. Oblong 4to, printed gray paper boards, stab-stitched with four large aluminium bolts, left edge of front board very slightly bumped, else fine. LIMITED EDITION, limited to 1000 copies. An important anthology of the revolutionary typography and graphic designs of Depero, a founder of the Futurist movement. Featuring work from 1913-1927 (including his famous Campari ads), this "bolted book" is proclaimed in the "preface" as "...Mechanical, bolted like a motor... Inclassifiable, cannot fit into the library with the other volumes... Original, Invasive and Assailing, like Depero and his art." Fol. [9]r "Il Futurismo Mondiale" is a roll call of the avant-garde of the day, by city, listing everyone from T.S. Eliot, Man Ray, Lissitzky, Schwitters to Borges. MOMA/Jentsch 177 ("one of the avant-garde masterpieces in the history of the book-object").
