GALILEI, Galileo (1564-1642). Opere . Florence: Tartini, 1718. 3 volumes, large 8° (252 x 182mm). Half-titles, engraved portrait, general title to vol. 1 in red and black with engraved vignette, woodcut diagrams of which 19 full-page, one folding engraved plate. (Two short tears to title of vol. I without loss, marginal tear to Dd8 in vol. II, front endpapers a little wormed in vol. III, small chip in vol. III to lower edge from R extending and expanding slightly through to end and repaired towards end, occasional light spotting.) Contemporary vellum, gilt spine labels (covers lightly soiled with a little light spotting, two heavier marks to lower cover of vol. II).
