General Louis Barraguey d'Hilliers 1798 lively six page manuscript account of the engagement bewteen the French frigate "La Sensible" and the English frigate "The Seahorse" whilst returning to France from Valletta in June 1798; the report is addressed to the Minister of War and is signed at the end. The last paragraph reads "..it remains for me to ask you to obtain permission from the directory so that I may inform them viva voce of the mission entrusted to me by General Bonaparte dealing with observations and facts, not concerned with this combat, which may be of great interest.." . Accompanied by full English translation
