GEORGE BERNARD SHAW A printed acknowledgement note signed by Shaw, to H.M. Tomlinson, dated 10 Adelphi Terrace, Feb. 2nd (?) 15, regarding the controversy surrounding his tract ' Common Sense About the War' , with a manuscript note: ' P.S. I am fully sensible of the danger of the way in which the war is being used to slip all the old fetters on us' ; a 2pp. proof ' Again the Dean Speaks Out by Bernard Shaw' , published in ' The Nation' with manuscript corrections by the author, including the copywright date 11.8.1922; a 2pp. a.l.s. by Shaw to H.M. Tomlinson, dated Ayot St. Lawrence, 18th Feb. 1923, in which Shaw despairs: ' Copies of 'The Nation' are not available in this village ... I have scribbled a reply to the sarcastic Gillison, just to get in the statistical dodgery, which was beneath the dignity of the articles' ; and another a.n.s. by Shaw. (4)
