Warrant to the Lord Mayor of London authorising him to collect money for the relief of people in the aftermath of "a dreadful fire lately happened at Limehouse, in the Parish of Stepney"
D.s. “George DCR” & “P Methuen”, manuscript, 2pp., sadly in poor condition with numerous holes and wear with loss of text, repaired with conservation tape, both signatures in good condition, folds, browned, folio, “Given at the Court of St. James’s”, ?7th June 1716; and a small quantity of others, including a part of an order signed by Lord Anglesey and Sir Robert Long ( first baronet, politician and exchequer official, c. 1602-73), letters of Caroline, Margravine of Solms-Baruth; Prince Adolphus, duke of Cambridge; George, duke of Cambridge; Prince Alfred, duke of Edinburgh; cut signatures of George II, George III, George IV, William IV, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert ( most mounted on album leaves ), and a cut signature from a letter by Madame D’Arblay, v.s., v.d.
