George III inlaid oak-cased eight day brass dial longcase clock, Willis, Harthill, circa 1775, the 12" break-arched brass dial having a silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing a matted centre with subsidiary seconds and calendar dials within chevron border, the arch with articulated figure of Father Time between sea serpents over engraved motto 'Tempus Fugit', the break-arched case with figured frieze, sunken columns, star-inlaid long trunk door and string-inlaid base with plinth, 214cm high Condition: Dial has tarnishing to the silvered chapter ring and to central arch boss, movement appears clean and sound but is not tested or guaranteed, later coiled gong mounted to backing boards (no bell surmount), later seat board, case is missing its finials, case in good order, plinth base possibly of later date, minor edge moulding losses to open side of trunk door, sold with two weights, pendulum and winder (pendulum has wooden rod which is snapped off where it meets the bob) - **General condition consistent with age
