George Prior large gilt metal and tortoiseshell quarter repeating pair cased pocket watch, signed fusee movement with engraved plate, pierced engraved balance cock, gilt three arm balance, silvered regulating disc and hammers striking a bell, the signed dial with Arabic numerals and minute markers, blued steel moon hands, within a pierced engraved gilt metal inner case and associated tortoiseshell outer case with pinwork decoration and eyelet holes, 68mm (the movement in need of attention - see condition)
Movement - functioning, repeat chimes but not consistent and would benefit from service/attention. Dial - chip repair at the one position, chips at the nine and ten positions, chip at the centre hole, scratches and hairlines. Glass - surface scratches. Hands - good. Case - inner case with split to the back and visible repair, repair to the pierced decoration, rubbing to the case back, replacement bow, outer case with split to the bezel and visible repairs to the bezel, tortoiseshell loss, surface marks and hairline cracks, associated to inner case. - Condition reports are provided for general guidance only.
