Christmas card TO ELEANOR ROOSEVELT, signed by George VI ("George R") and Queen Elizabeth ("Elizabeth R"), Imprint: London: Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd., 1950. 4pp, oblong, gold embossed emblem of Royal crown on front cover, contains black and white photograph of the kilted Royal family. GEORGE VI AND QUEEN ELIZABETH TO MRS. ROOSEVELT, printed legend "With Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year" 1950. The picturesque card depicts four members of the British Royal family, all dressed in traditional Scottish kilts, possibly in the Scottish Highlands. Shown are (from left to right): the present Queen Elizabeth II (then Princess Elizabeth), Princess Margaret Rose, the present Queen Mother (then Queen Elizabeth) and the late King George VI. -- Group of official printed invitations to John A. Roosevelt and his wife Anne to various presidential functions in honour of the official visit of the King and Queen of England, George VI and Queen Elizabeth to the U.S., comprising: invitation to a White House dinner, 8 June 1939 (with cards authorizing admittance into the White House). Invitation to a Garden Party for the Royal couple at the British Embassy (with admission cards). Invitation dated 11 June 1939, to the now famous barbecue picnic at Franklin D. Roosevelt's country retreat in Hyde Park "Top Cottage," (with cards giving parking instructions and passes for entry into the White House, with details of the luncheon).
