Vor einem sanft in zartem nach rechts zu kräftigem Blau verlaufenden Untergrund, der der Arbeit eine zarte, lyrische Stimmung verleiht, hat der Künstler die für ihn charakteristischen, der japanischen Kalligrafie entlehnten Zeichen direkt aus der Farbtube in einem konzentrierten, aber schnellen Vorgang aufgetragen. So entsteht eine feine Verbindung fernöstlich inspirierter kalligrafischer Zeichen mit dem europäischen Informel. Die vorliegende, eindrucksvolle Arbeit entstand 1959, dem Jahr, in dem Arbeiten des Künstlers auf der documenta II in Kassel ausgestellt wurden. Provenienz: Galerie Arditti, Paris. Set against a background, which smoothly dissolves from soft to vibrant blue on the right, giving the work a delicate, lyrical mood, the artist has applied his distinctive characters - borrowed from Japanese calligraphy - to the canvas, directly from the paint tube, in a concentrated, but fast process. This creates a fine connection between Far Eastern inspired calligraphic characters and the European Art Informel. The present, impressive work was created in 1959, the same year, in which the artist’s works were exhibited at the documenta II in Kassel. Provenance: Galerie Arditti, Paris.
