GILLRAY, James (1757-1815). The Works ... from the Original Plates, with the addition of many subjects not before collected. London: Henry G. Bohn, [c.1849]. 2° (631 x 490mm). Engraved portrait frontispiece, title vignette and plates by James Gillray numbered 1 - 582, but with additional plates 86*, 100*, 207*, 379*, 379**, 379***, and without a plate numbered 238 [as usual], comprising a total of 587 plates on 152 leaves, without the supplement of suppressed plates (occasional light mainly marginal spotting and staining). Contemporary red half morocco gilt, gilt edges (rubbed, corners and extremities worn). Brunet II, 1600; cf. Lowndes III, 894 (note regarding 'supplementary' plates).
