Gilt-brass Madonna and Child Table Clock, Augsburg, c. 1635, the standing Madonna figure with revolving silvered Roman numeral dial in the crown, blued steel staff in her left hand and holding the infant Jesus in her right, stands on the checkered gilt brass floor and above the shaped ebony veneered base with applied ormolu decoration, glazed viewing ports for the movement and flattened bun feet enclosing the brass fusee rectangular plate movement engraved Binedickt Miller with verge escapement, steel balance, engraved and pierced floral balance cock and strike detent, count-wheel cut for three segments of six strikes on a bell mounted within the case, all on a later plinth and under a tall glass dome, ht. 16 1/2 in.
