Assemblage aus Papierabdruck auf grobem, festem Bütten und Holzarbeit, auf Schichtholz montiert, unter einer Glasscheibe, in Holzobjektkasten. U.r. sign. und (19)99 dat. Verso auf der Rückwand nochmals sign., 1999 dat., bet., bez. «Zell a.H.» und mit den Angaben zum Werk und zum Preis.

«In der Verbindung von Papier und Holz, wie es im Werk von Armin Göhringer schon seit Jahren vorkommt, wird die existentielle Symbolkraft des organischen Materials noch unterstrichen. Göhringer presst angefeuchtetes, grobfaseriges Büttenpapier auf Skulpturenteile auf, das sich als Positivform auf dem Papier abdruckt. Wie eine Art schützende Verpackung überdeckt das getrocknete, lederartig wirkende Papier die gesägten Holzteile. Seine warme, bräunliche Farbigkeit, die von der austretenden Gerbsäure des Holzes herrührt, lässt unwillkürlich an Hautoberflächen denken. Assemblage of papercast on coarse, strong laid paper and woodwork, mounted on plywood, under a glass pane, in a wooden object box. Signed lower right and dated (19)99. Verso on the back panel signed again, dated 1999, titled, inscribed «Zell a.H.» and with the work's data and the price.

«In the combination of paper and wood, as has been the case in Armin Göhringer's work for years, the existential symbolic power of the organic material is emphasised. Göhringer presses dampened, coarse-fibred handmade paper onto sculpture parts, which are moulded onto the paper as a positive form. Like a kind of protective wrapping, the dried, leather-like paper covers the sawn wooden parts. Its warm, brownish colour, which comes from the tannic acid that escapes from the wood, makes one think involuntarily of skin surfaces.
