Engraved titles, engraved frontispieces, 2 engraved portrait frontispieces in vol. 1 (including a frontispiece portrait of Goldoni by Pitteri after Lorenzo Tiepolo , and 68 engraved plates by Baratti et al. after P.A. Novelli. (A few leaves browning, spotted or stained, a few with minor marginal tears, some repaired, lacking leaves A4.5 in vol. 10.) Contemporary French marbled calf, spines in 6 compartments with 5 raised bands gilt, red morocco gilt lettering pieces, edges gilt (light rubbing and chipping, volume 10 rebacked preserving original spine, some hinges starting). Provenance : B. Legoux (inscription dated 1810); Howard Douglas Leonard Galton (armorial bookplate); acquired from Goodspeed's Book Shop, 1971. FIRST ILLUSTRATED EDITION.
