First Edition. Inscribed presentation copy, signed in the year of publication by the author to Zane Grey, the well-known angling and western fiction author. Signed on the half-title verso: “To Zane Grey – with every good wish from George C. Thomas Jr., Beverly Hills, California, 10/30/27.” Thomas worked with many of the most prominent architects of his era, including Donald Ross A.W. Tillinghast, Hugh Wilson, etc. and built more than two dozen courses during the 1920’s, several of which are in California. Murdoch 767; D&M 36690; D&J T7730.
