GORDON FREDERICK BROWNE (1858-1932): An album containing a large quantity of letters (many illustrated), pen and ink drawings, cartoons and ephemera (a quantity) Gordon Browne R.I. was the youngest son of Hablot K. Browne, better known as Phiz who illustrated many of Dickens' works. He was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and the Royal Society of British Artists. He illustrated various editions of Shakespeare, Defoe, Bunyan and others. This album was compiled by Arnold Morris (the recipient of most of the letters) who was a fellow artist and close friend of Gordon Browne.
