GOULD, John. The Birds of Asia . London: by the Author, 1866-1867. Original Parts XVIII and XIX, 2° (560 x 380mm.), 38 hand-coloured lithographed plates after Gould, H.C. Richter and J. Wolf. Original cloth-backed printed boards (a little stained). The thirty-five parts of The Birds of Asia were issued over a period of 34 years from 1849 to 1883. Richard Bowdler Sharpe prepared the final three parts after Gould's death in 1888. See Gordon C. Sauer: John Gould the Bird Man pp. 66-68. Sold not subject to return. (2)
