Coloured frontispiece and title finished by hand, illustrations, 4-pages publisher's advertisements at end. (A few spots, some light staining.) Original brown cloth decorated in blind, upper cover lettered in gilt (faded at edges, a few ink spots). Provenance : "Mary Pethybridge from Mrs Moody" (early inscription on front free endpaper). With 38 other grammar and school books including a later edition of the above work, Thomas Dilworth's A New Guide to the English Tongue ... A New Edition (London, c.1800, woodcuts), James Greenwood's The London Vocabulary (London, 1807, 23rd edition, woodcuts), S.
