LE MUSIGNY'S SUB-CLIMATES The vineyard known as Le Musigny has always consisted of two sections divided by a foot path. The smaller vineyard to the south is recognized as Les Petits Musigny and is a monopol under Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé. Les Musigny to the north of the path is slightly larger and has been known in the past as "Grand Musigny" or as we recognize it today, simply Musigny. Grand Musigny--Vintage 1919 Côte de Nuits, de Vogüé Level: 6cm; Plain lead capsules, successeur de Alfred Auloy negociant bottling, single nicked label, bin soiled label and bottle (neck label reads Envoi du Comptoir de Grand Vins Francais, successeur de Alfred Auloy, negociant á Bordeaux) "Medium-pale, pink-cheeked; a most extraordinary fragrance, cherries and poire Williamine; sweet, delicately flavoured, with cherry-like fruit, positive, good length and aftertaste. A lovely wine: one of the most attractive of the 55 remarkable burgundies from the cellars of Wilfred Jaeger tasted over three sessions, two dinners and a Sunday lunch, March 2002 *****."
