Zeitgenöss. schwarzer Lederband mit gold- und blindgepr. Deckelornament. Folio. Seltene Graphikfolge mit sorgfältig gezeichneten Tierdarstellungen nach W. Hawkins und R. K. Thomas; in farb. Lithographie, tlw. zusätzlich handkoloriert und eiweißgehöht. Die Tafeln bestehen jeweils aus einer größeren Lithographie in der Mitte, umgeben von 8 kleineren Randdarstellungen. Format ca. 26 : 32 cm, Papierformat ca. 36 : 49 cm. Dargestellt werden neben diversen Haustieren Elefanten, Kamele, Fische, Seidenwürmer, Schildkröten u. a. Zu Beginn mit Titelbl., Einführung und Tafelverzeichnis. - Tafel 5 irrtümlich als Tafel 22 numeriert. Mit diversen restaurierten bzw. ausgebesserten Rand- und Falzläsuren. Bindung und Rücken erneuert. Set of 21 colour lithographs, partly finished by hand and heightened with albumen. Contemp. black calf with gilt decoration. - Several marginal tears and damages (restored), binding and back renewed.
