Nike driving fast quadriga r., holding reins and kentron; below, E; above, BAΣIΛEOΣ; in ex. IEPΩNOΣ. CCO, pl. I, D3/R1 (same dies). Of the highest rarity, and one of the best specimens known. Undoubtedly one of the most important and desirable Greek coins, a masterpiece of the Ellenistic style. Attractive cabinet tone, surface somewhat porous, anyway extremely fine.
